Following the "chain of command"...

Post  Admin on Thu 13 Mar - 18:44

To the best of our knowledge, this is how the list goes. Please let us know if we should add to this list or if the list is incorrect in any way.

From lowest to highest is as follows...

*Faculty Members ~ Teachers
*Administrator #2 ~ Vise Principal
*Administrator #1 ~ Principal
*The Board of Education
*Director of Schools or School superintendent

Always try to resolve any issue/s at the level they exist and then keep climbing the ladder until you feel the issue/s are resolved to your satisfaction. Sometimes a situation can be resolved at the level it begins, but sometimes you have no choice but to "go over the heads" of people when they refuse to or (for some reason) can't rectify the issue/s. Always keep your cool, be respectful to WMS staff, faculty and administrators (or at the higher levels in Sumner County if necessary). It's very easy to let things get out of hand when you're upset and that's understandable, but if you seem unreasonable or "hot headed", the attention will shift to YOU instead of where it belongs. NEVER, EVER assume that your issue/s are resolved because they seem to be or because you are told they are! Continue to keep notes and ALWAYS keep a watchful eye out for future relapse of the issue/s already dealt with, and some new issues that may arise because of the past situation/s. As soon as you start seeing other problems, don't ignore it (no matter how small they may be) because as you may already know, an issue can escalate very quickly! Get right in there and start the "chain of command" all over again from the beginning and follow it through until the end. Sometimes no matter how far you take it, you won't get satisfaction because let's be realistic here, everyone you deal with from the bottom to the top, they all stick together and are mostly unwilling to admit when someone or even many are at fault for something within the school system and it's very sad, but VERY true. Just keep in mind that there is always the media!
